Food Allergies Part 3- Wheat

Part 3 is all about wheat. Many of my patients in Austin share in having this specific sensitivity. Wheat is in just about every processed food product on the market. Wheat intolerance is almost just as common. About 7 out of every 10 people have some level of wheat intolerance . The symptomatic expression includes low energy, neck stiffness, occipital headache, high blood pressure, intestinal issues like IBS, gastritis, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis and leaky Gut syndrome. Getting wheat out of your diet will reduce the frequency and intensity of the symptoms listed above. While changing your diet will help, acupuncture treatments and herbal therapy will cause rapid improvement. If you think you might have this sensitivity please call and make an appointment so we can begin helping you today! Here is a short list of foods that have wheat in them:

Pasta

Cereal (hot and cold)

Bread

Baked goods including pizza crusts, etc

Kamut (a wheat relative)

Smelt (a wheat relative)

Batter-fried dishes

Baking soda

Baking powder

Sauce thickened casseroles, hotdishes, and gravies

Canned soup and chilli
