Food Allergies Part 4- Soy
For many of my patients in Austin, Soy is a preferred healthy alternative to milk. Soy is a subsidized crop in the US which means it is the second most common crop grown in our country. With popularity comes problems. For starters most of the Soy consumed has been genetically modified. When insects won’t eat a food, why would you or I? The true health implications have not been revealed and time will tell what problems these modifications will cause. I say better safe than sorry would be a good “old fashioned” way to approach this particular omnivore dilemma. Soy also depresses thyroid function which manifest’s with symptoms like heart palpitations, fatigue, slow metabolism and weight gain. Soy can also cause digestive complications. It has an enzyme that blocks human digestion and symptoms like gas, bloating, constipation and diarrhea can be the result. Not everyone will be affected by soy but others will. If you or a loved one suffers from symptoms like those mentioned above please call and come in and let us help you get your life free of suffering back!
